Mean Girl

I Am Not Nice
As proof I offer, thanks to [info]ljgeoff , this link. Thanks to her, and the talented folks who created that little gem, I now have a name for The King James/Revised Standard/New Jerusalem volumes that I, for reasons having to do with family tradition, still have sitting there on my bookshelves (although I suppose, technically, it would just apply to the New Testaments.)

Jesus fanfic.

What???

Well, I couldn't find the link to the consideration of one of the apocryphal gospels as Jesus fanfic, but I did turn up a (not very good) copy of one of my many favorite Ron Cobb cartoons.

I have all of my personal bibles, but I don't read them or anything. I keep them just because they were mine. But I expect the time will come when I throw them away.

(Huh, we're supposed to get heavy snow tomorrow night. I bet we don't go to dinner after bookgroup.)

At least one of the ones on our shelves was my Mom's; another belonged to Bob's mom. There are a couple of others of cloudy provenance, plus a Book of Mormon two sweet young Mormon ladies gave me years ago, poor lasses. I think I've got some Buddhist stuff, too. Always diversify ....

Hope the snow isn't too heavy. I don't think your area is ever really ready for too many inches. Or any inches at all, really.

Yeah, all four of mine were bibles I used when I was still pretending to be a christian. They have notes in them and bookmarks and such. I also have the New Testament that my mother kept in her purse. It's not so much the religious words as the reminder of that time.

He's now saying 10" for us by tomorrow night.

Ten inches is far too heavy a fall for D.C.

Yeah. Now they're saying 6-12 inches, and maybe more on Sunday. A heavier winter storm season was forecast, so I stocked up more than usual (about every five years or so, I can't get out of the condo for a couple of months) and when I went to get Junie's refill today, I picked up the four things I had on my list for Monday already. Not particularly storm stuff, but I may not get out on Monday.

The other people at the grocery were very aggressive. Not just in coming out of the middle aisles without looking at the round-the-building aisle first, but pushing past in aisles and such. I'm glad I didn't want to buy much.

I suppose it doesn't help that this comes at perhaps the worst part of the holiday frenzy; stressor upon stressor.

Well, you think it! I've decided to use the term God!fic to cover the entire Bible/Quran/Torah/Upanishads, etc. etc. etc.
