Things Get Better

The very bad, horrible, not good at all night has passed. It's over. Thanks everyone, for putting up with my panic; thanks, Geri, for your ear and the crossword puzzles; thanks, Gonz, for considering my insane question; thanks Marilee, for reminding me of perspective. Thanks, lavanderia, for being here, so I can wash my clothes.

More to follow, but things - and, most importantly, Bob - are better.

I got a remarkable amount of rest, thanks; now I'm going to try to make the most of that by getting some long-delayed work done.

I've gotten to the point where I hate assuming that things will get better, but I, too, am very cautiously hopeful. Thanks!

Great to hear. Now have something to eat if you haven't been eating properly (which I suspect is the case) and get some rest.

Thank you - when it comes to eating, let's just say that I've become very well acquainted with hospital cafeteria cuisine.

I've actually felt weight lift off my shoulders in the past 12 hours or so, which is a relief. But I'm trying to keep a rein on my optimism, because my experience of good luck over the past few days has been of less than optimal consistency.

Any time, dear. Here's to a solid few consecutive days of better immediately following this one. Much love all around, and I hope it works for you to spend some time with that carnyjack guy this weekend.

carnyjack called this morning, bless him, and that brought a smile to my face (did you give him a loving nudge?)

I'm really happy to hear that Bob's feeling better! And wishing that he'll continue to get stronger and stronger yet -- to the point where I'll see him at a hella good jam session in the coming future time.

Wouldn't that be wonderful? It's been so long since we accidentally gafiated ... it would be nice to revisit the clans some time. Thanks for your good wishes!

Thanks! Rest and hope are two of the best medicines in the world for melancholy and fear, I can tell you right now.
