Our Story Thus Far
Word count on Chapter 9: 1,322. Up from 451, so I'm headed in the right direction.
Sitrep: one Captain in trouble, one gun, with silencer, aimed at the right eye of said Captain, one gun-wielding insurgency member aiming said gun, one tired insurgency leader commanding said insurgency member, assorted other confused and unhappy insurgency members. Doctor? Still missing. Rose? Her too. The future? Not necessarily bright  enough for shades.
My muses and mental aids: the terror Miles Vorkosigan feels every time a mission goes south, the sounds of a city at 4 a.m., thinking on your feet when they're cut off at the ankles.
Score and Lyrics: "All Along the Watchtower" BSG/Bear McCreary version (played five times, very loud); "Staring at the Sun" by the Offspring; "Watching the Detectives" by Elvis Costello (I kid you not);  "Cloudbusting (the Organon mix)" by Kate Bush; "Closer to Home" by Grand Funk (Hey - I'm Your Captain...how couldn't I?)
Totality of the Day: tolerable good, thank you.
