Mad Max: Fury Road

I forgot to mention that we watched this movie Sunday night and were really impressed with it. I'd heard so many people be impressed with it, and wanted the chance to see if it lived up to the hype. At least in my opinion, it most definitely did.

I usually judge the worth of movies on the strength of their acting - I have little intellectual understanding of what makes for the quality of a movie's visual or thematic aspects, so I tend to leave that for those who are more at ease with them - and I was very impressed with the acting; so much done, as other reviewers have said, with the eyes, with small gestures, and all of those subtleties were successfully planted in the middle of motion, action, explosion, none of which is pointless and all of which is almost balletic.

And that motion was paired with incredible music, gorgeous color palettes, wonderful bits of world building and myth making; it was an altogether gorgeous and emotionally moving film.

tl;dr: I liked it.
