Dept. of Travel

I'm Away ...

... and in Toronto, just a few minutes before boarding for Halifax. Dead tired and wired - a full day yesterday amidst the Chicago torrential downpours. And now I'm traveling. Traveling alone isn't as fun as traveling with BB. I miss him. But soon I'll see my mother, and that's a good thing.

I'm hanging as tough as I can, and praying for my mother to do the same. And here I am, once again, within driving distance and still unable to meet you. Damn.

I will tell her how wonderful the friends I have here are, and pass on all of your good wishes and vibes. She can use them all.

*is grateful for the snuggles*

Thanks; the journey was uneventful, and I am glad to be by her side.

And I of you, my dear. It will be good to see you. Despite this crazed and unhappy situation with my mum, I'm hoping that I'll be able to do Wiscon.

Good luck, mate, and best wishes for your mum's health and recovery.

Thanks; it's still a long road, but she knows I'm home and will spend time by her side every day.

Helen Creighton story

I enjoyed the story featuring Helen very much. You captured a good part of Helen's personality and zest for experiences. Then again, you knew her as Aunt Helen and I as a dear friend and mentor. Kudos.

Re: Helen Creighton story
Hello, Mr. Croft: I know your name as someone who has kept Helen's memory alive, and who appreciates the wonderful work she did to keep our musical and story-telling heritage alive. I am touched that you liked my little fanfic well enough to comment (even if the comment somehow ended up far away from the story!) When I wrote it, I offered up a little "hello" to Helen, wherever in the stars she's traveling, and told her I hoped she didn't mind meeting these characters that I loved so much. Thanks again for your comment, and thank you for your work on Helen's behalf.
