Dept. of Weather

 Hot. Hot, hot, hot.

And yet, my mood is not irritable. Very much.

Astounding.

As they say here in Chicago, how's by you?

Tis one of those mellow days, yus? Stupidly humid and hot - but not bad in the long run...

I'm definitely glad to hear this, my dear.

I so want to say something rude and cheeky but I won't.

It has been warm/hot and humid here for awhile but, like many people here, we have AC. -35C in the winter and +35C in the summer means that good insulation and good heat/ac are a must.

Rude and cheeky is often just the thing to put a grin on my face, but I also appreciate Canadian civility. Heh.

-35C in the winter and +35C in the summer means that good insulation and good heat/ac are a must.

Holy crap, that's extreme. I knew the prairies were prone to extremes (cue more impulses on your part for rude and cheeky responses), but that's amazing. And boy, do I agree with you about the necessity for good insulation and working AC. Right now, the AC is what is making today liveable at Casa KaffyrBB.

Ew and eek. I've been hearing about that heatwave and I feel profoundly sorry for everyone caught up in it.

Aren't you actually fairly close to the heatwave area (which at one point actually covered an astoundingly large section of North America)?

Cold, actually. But I have my heater, my nanna blanket, my hot cuppa soup...

That's a fantastic icon!

And I'm glad you've got all the nice warm-making things; it's still winter down there, isn't it? (I actually made a winter soup today - cream of mushroom, with chicken and rice and various other grain seeds, with a little red wine and a dash of mace - and it tasted just as good in 33C weather as it does in 0C weather!)

ETA: I used my Totoro Christmas icon because, although it isn't Christmas, it seems like a nice "warmth within cold weather" type of icon.

Isn't it? The estimable and inimitable dr_whuh made it for me.
