I Am Home

I'm home, and tired, and so very grateful to have Bob, so glad to be back in his arms. So glad to be back in Chicago, so happy to see my kitties, so happy to know I'll see my son, so happy to have had a Chicago pizza and a proper cup of tea (waitwut? I hear you cry, did you not have proper tea in Canada? Ah, but that is a kvetch for another day) and so very, very, very ...

... so very glad I am home.

I have declared a personal 12-14 hour moratorium on thinking about what I have experienced over the past 6 days. I shall clean my teeth and crawl into my own bed, and start anew tomorrow.

Did I mention how much I love Bob, and how glad I am to be with him again?

Ohhh, honey...so glad you are home! And so glad Bob is there to cuddle you and make it better!

Have a nice cuppa and a lie in with the babies. Talk to your sweet son. Just shut off the brain a bit.

Give everyone extra hugs from me. And take a cuddle and a kiss from Louisville to Chicago...

Just wanted to say that I've been reading your posts (although been bad about not commenting). Loved the photos you posted of your mother (she looks absolutely wonderful!) and all the thoughts you've been sharing.

Wanted to let you know that you're both in my thoughts and prayers. ♥

Oh, goodness, don't worry about not commenting. I've been so focused on my own goings on that I haven't commented on anyone else's posts.

Thank you for both your thoughts and your prayers.

Welcome back.

A proper cup of tea in the Maritimes? Probably Lipton Yellow Label. Black as night, thick as tar and almost as tasty with two spoons of sugar and some Carnation to turn it into a rich tawny soup? Just guessing.

Oh, if only even a quarter of what you said was true! Sadly, with the exception of one old-fashioned restaurant in Grand Pre, where I got some proper tea, the art of tea making appears to be lost. I grieve, especially after reading your extremely evocative description. (Even if I now drink my strong black tea with straight milk and no sugar, your description made me want Carnation, which was once my tea milk of choice.)

Glad you're home, and have someone to hold you.
