Dept. of Hitting That Chord

No, It Doesn't ...

... ever die, that is.

Because it's true. (And yes, it's from 22 years ago. But that doesn't matter.)

Guys, if you ever want to understand at least some weird but entirely essential part of me? Put this on.

Loud.

Like, hurt-your-ears loud.

And look for the librarian lady in the front row.

There.

You're welcome.

Late in getting back - Heh.

I adore you, too, fellow rocknroller!

I can't claim it was loud enough, even with headphones and levels cranked, but yes, this.

I do believe if I went through the thousands of photos in my fan room, I would come across several taken 6 years before Neil's recording. They totally revealed that entirely essential part of you. I haven't seen them in years, but I easily remember your hair, your stance, and the curve of the mic cord in motion...the reality of BB & the White Women rockin' hard'n'loud.

There's a lot more to the pictures than meets the eye, but my, my, they reflect that essence of you. And yes, of course, if and when I find them, I'll be sure to send you scans.

(Librarian lady is my hero, especially near the end.)

I'm so glad you understand!

And oh, my, pictures of that long ago time? It would be as if they came in from another universe. 1985, right? I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now ....

And boy, do I love librarian lady. She's magnificent.

I love this song.

I'm from the horrible generation who was first introduced to it thanks to Oasis, but I absolutely adore the original.

Wow - Oasis did this? That adds some cool points to them (and I like them anyway, despite their overweening hubris and oafish behavior. Or perhaps because of it. Heh.) I must investigate, via YouTube.

No matter who does it, it's wonderful, isn't it?

It is fun to play on acoustic as well though probably very wrong of me.

Actually, my favorite rock and roll station, WXRT, tends to play the acoustic version that Neil does. It's good, very good (hence the fact that I understand what you mean about playing it acoustically), but I find myself hungering for The Noise.
