Things I Do

Spend years (truly, years) looking at a pair of good snow boots, one of whose side zipper needs to be replaced. Finally take it in, get it replaced. Lose other boot. Or perhaps dropped it off at cobbler's, and forgot to get it back. But if so, why did cobbler not give it back to me?

This is my life.

Ugh! >.< Now that is quite rubbish. Ask the cobbler? Where else could you lose a boot?

I'll definitely be asking the cobbler today; he seems like a good old gentleman, so I think he'll do a search of his place to see if there's a single boot looking lonely for its mate. At this point, I'm more amused about the silliness that is, occasionally, my life, than anything else. Heh.

*chuckles* Good then, and fingers crossed! ;)

Oh God, this is my life, too. Monday night I left an almost brand-new swimming cap in the locker room at the Y. Went back last night, checked everywhere, no sign of the thing. And it's a cap I won for hitting the 50 mile mark of the 2014 "Go the Distance" event. Grumble, grumble. I have a spare cap, but I liked THAT one, ya know? Hardly a world-ending thing, but just an annoyance I'd rather not deal with.

Last year it took me 3-4 months to get a lamp fixed because I kept just missing the guy who runs the small electronics repair shop, and I also kept having to wait for the weather to be such that I wouldn't slip/fall and break the lamp on an icy sidewalk. We finally connected and the lamp was fixed for around $15, but jeeze louise, I didn't think I was ever going to get there when the shop was open.

That's annoying. Good luck in getting back your boot!

And... even though your visit to the cobbler didn't go so well... I'm very pleased to know that there are still cobblers in this world and that people still use them, rather than chucking out repairable boots to buy another disposable pait at Wally World.
