Dept. of Good Things

Taking my cue from a number of folks on my friends' list, I'm going to find one or more things that I can be happy about each day.

Today is Monday. What am I grateful for?

1. Bob. Always and forever.
2. It's March, almost half-way through, and that means spring is coming.
3. Daylight Savings Time means it's not getting dark at 4:30 and 5 p.m. anymore. That's good!
4. I got my exercises done first thing in the morning today, after four days of not doing them.
5. I'm eating a tiny bit less starch and carbohydrate; I haven't nearly cut down to where I want to, yet, but it's a start.

Hmm. Five - that's not bad.

Indeed it does. And it brings to mind that even our troubles sometimes lead to happy surprises. Like you run out of milk while cooking and have to go to the store (and you're mad because long day, hungry, didn't want to go back out), but if you hadn't gone to the store, you wouldn't have run into the high school friend you were thinking about earlier. You wouldn't know they had moved back and would you like to go out for a coffee?

Sometimes the smallest thing (and even biggest headache) can lead to good things and marvelous revelations. You just have to look for the good things, even in a bad moment.

What a wonderful example of how good things happen in the weirdest, most wonderful ways!
