Dept. of Midweek Gratitude

Give Me an "F,"  Give Me an "A," Give Me an "N," and a "Fic"!

Sort of lengthy, I recognize, but I hope I can be forgiven. I'm so very grateful to be able to say that I finished another
[community profile] fandom_stocking  fic today, and posted it, for [personal profile] jessalrynn ! Hurrah!

And now, I'm heading to bed ... for which I'm still very grateful. Heh.

Woohoo yay!!

Are you familiar with fic_rush? We're having our monthly marathon this weekend. I'd love for you to drop in if you've a mind!

I'd heard of the comm, but I'd never investigated it. It's tempting — quite tempting — but I haven't made my mind up. I'm such a coward about fic contests of any kind, and the only things I've ever taken part in were ficathons years ago for betterwiththree (and I was always late for those. In fact, one story from a prompt in that comm is still ongoing, almost eight years later), as well as for fandom_stocking over on its Dreamwidth side. So we shall see, but I'm grateful to you for suggesting the idea!

Fic Rush isn't a contest; it's a support community. It isn't restricted to fandom, or even to writing -- the focus is fic writing, but people do all kinds of creative stuff, or just hang out cheering each other on. This time around, I'll probably be doing a draft write-up of a research project, and sewing.

I can also vouch for the fact that the comm is not going to change its practices any time soon, because I inherited it from the founder a good many years ago, and I get to say what goes. (insert Evil Overlord laugh) (And almost anything does go, as long as it's in support of creativity.)
