It doesn't matter that Labor Day is almost over. That's because every day is Labor Day. On this Labor Day, I remember Joe Hill.
Joan Baez did a lovely, elegiac version of the ballad "Joe Hill" - that's this one:

And then there's this - Joe Hill was more than a memory. He wrote some wonderful songs for the people he lived among and organized; Woody Guthrie had a lot to live up to:
Labor Day is every day, because we haven't won the battle yet.
