Dept. of I am Here

As It Says on the Tin

I'm here in Canada with Bob, staying at my brother's and enjoying everything so far except the extreme lack of internet (I told Bob that I am indeed addicted. I've been twitchy and irritable without my phone (no international cellular yet, long, horrible story which I'll talk about when I have more access than the local Tim Horton's) and wifi, but being here, just for joyful things and not for dying loved ones, almost makes up for it. Almost.

No, really, I love it here, and I'm able to laugh at myself, mostly. I wrote some things (longhand! Lo-fi wonderment!) in my notebook, and I may transcribe some of it tomorrow, although looking at what I wrote only reminded me about how irritable I could get. Still. OK, I'm going to pick up another book for my Kindle, and get the heck out of here, but goodness, it's good to be able to talk to people again (although I won't be able to respond until tomorrow.) And I'll upload a couple of pics I took yesterday, to prove I'm actually here.

Aw, have a nice time! I hope your technology problems get sorted, but - have a lovely time regardless!

We're truly enjoying ourselves, despite the tech problems - as I said, I do have at least a little ability to laugh at myself - and this morning, we saw deer in my brother's back yard, which basically makes up for almost anything. I'm hoping to upload pics in a few minutes, so people can see!

If you must be without internet, at least NS is a lovely place to be without it. Have a wonderful time.

p.s. I know St. Peters is a long way from Wolfville but the Bras d'Or Lakes Inn had a great chef when we were there.

Oh, Cape Breton is definitely way too far from where we are, but I have great memories of going up there when I was much younger. We're looking forward to going to Lunenburg on Friday, to be on the Bluenose, and I imagine we'll find some good seafood along the way.

Thanks - definitely enjoying myself; the weather's been quite glorious, and everyone is so wonderful around us, that it's (relatively) easy to ignore the tech problems.

I totally "get" the frustrations over lack of technology.

Have loads of fun! I hope it all goes wonderfully!

It's frustration over stupid bosses, plus frustration over being without tech. I have to remember that I didn't have any mobile or laptop a few years ago, and I managed, somehow (*eyeroll*), to survive. Heh.

Thanks for the best wishes!
