Years ago, now, when I still went to SF conventions in Minneapolis, I met a remarkable young woman named Laurel at a Minicon music party. She was smart, funny (Hey! Bacon Dispensers!), knew more about the Internet than I ever could, loved science fiction, baseball - especially the Twins - and television, and cats, and I was very glad to have met her.
Fast forward more than a few years, and it's been too many of those years since I last had the pleasure of her company. I know life's been less than optimal from time to time for her, but I also know that she's still the smart, funny, Internet-savvy, television knowledgeable, science-fiction and baseball-loving woman I met at that Minicon music party.
