It Means Something. Something Good

Big Damn Heroes
Tonight, on that uninteresting niche television cable channel C-Span 2, I watched a small group of elderly veterans - members of the surviving brotherhood of Navajo code talkers, who helped the Allies win World War II - walk onto the stage of the Democratic National Convention to present the colors. These men were born into an America that by and large was unkind to Native Americans. But they volunteered to fight for that same country. They were, and are, heroes, and they were there in Denver. I am so glad the Democratic Party asked them to come.

I'm still watching C-Span 2, watching the replay of the first day of convention business. I hope some of y'all are doing the same.
